About the Program: We all experience interpersonal and internal conflict from time to time. At home, at work and even at church we have felt the sting of our differences. Depending on our level of emotional intelligence and ethnical ancestry, most of us are a little afraid of it or really afraid of it.

Lots has been written about conflict and how to deal with it, even how to embrace it. Yikes! Come and explore some ideas for how we might learn to be less afraid of conflict and perhaps even see it as a potential friend, standing at the door of our life, sometimes needing to be welcomed in.

About the Guest Speaker: Tom Esch, attended UW River Falls, the University of Notre Dame and the Process Work Institute in Portland, Oregon. He has master's degrees in Theology and Conflict Resolution. He was part of a Catholic religious community for 10 years, living and working, mostly, in South Bend, Indiana but also in Nairobi, Kenya. Tom worked as Coordinator of Social Justice at First Universalist in South Minneapolis, served the UUA as a facilitator in the Social Justice Empowerment Program for over 10 years and is now President of Creating Resolution, LLC, a business dedicated to supporting people willing to have courageous conversations that benefit their bottom line.

Tom and his wife Kristen Wernecke are members of Unity Church Unitarian in St. Paul.
